Just a little closer.

February 13 update

I've been lax in updating this blog but, here is the latest.

I laid two boxes of tile in the shower last weekend and just bought another 5 boxes today.

With luck, I'll have those laid this coming weekend and can start on the floor. Once all tile

is complete in the master bath, the Home Depot cabinets should be here and then we

can order counter tops from the same guy that did the kitchen and the tops will be the same

black granite. This is for the desk in the kitchen, the guest 1/2 bath and the master bath.

Once they are in, I'll hook up the commodes, sinks and faucets and we will be very close to move in time. Small things like cabinets for the pantry, hanging rods in the master closet and window coverings and carpet for the loft.

The only big item will be the fireplace. I got the rock and other materials but, may have to rebuild it to hang the tv and center channel speaker. Trying now to buy the TV and that is more of a job than it should be.

Check out the new pics, expecially the tile back splash in the kitchen. Dana told me what she wanted and I did it. I'm pretty happy with the way it has turned out.

Start of new year 2008....a few days later

The pics of the stairs are still a bit early as I have yet to countersink nails, fill holes and then add last coat of poly. But, Glenn, Peg and other guys from Country Plans forum have asked to see the progress and Travis, my younger son has almost begged! I'm also now working on the bathrooms and actually got some tile layed today in the guest bath and finished the last of the pre-tile work in the master bath. Even finally figured out how to build a shower stall pan and that is no small job. Pics of that when I get some tile layed.
